The children of the Diakonos Orphanage(www.diaonosintl.org) in Carrefour, Haiti are starving for the educational and artistic opportunities that we take for granted in the U.S. GEMS(www.gems-girls.org) is committed to ending commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking of children by changing individual lives, transforming public perception, and revolutionizing the systems and policies that impact sexually exploited youth. By linking the two organizations and inspiring a myriad of supporters across all disciplines, the possibilities for personal growth and future success for the children are limitless.

Beauty Activists, Ford Model & Founder of Art In Motion (www.artinmotionshow.com), Monica Watkins, and "Makeup Artist to the Stars", Leora Edut (www.makeupbyleora.com), realized that fashion and beauty can serve as a catalyst to empower young, at-risk women and children in the areas of self-esteem, creativity, diversity, and access to financial freedom through the arts. The 'Art Of Beauty Experience' art auction and gala event was a group exhibit featuring the paintings created by the young women of GEMS and the children of The Diakonos Orphanage. The young women of GEMS auctioned their work and the proceeds from their half of the exhibit were donated to The Diakonos Orphanage.
